Annual Report 2024 | The Year in Review
The 2024 annual report looks back on a year full of changes and new perspectives. The focus was on the change of leadership at HWZ – with fresh impetus and a clear strategic direction towards the future. New study programs, the integration of artificial intelligence in teaching and further education, and the further development of proven projects were also key features of the year, as was the shared look to the future.

Annual Report 2024
The annual report has been redesigned and now features a completely new design, presenting itself as a modern landing page that makes the HWZ’s digital presence contemporary and appealing.
2024 was a year of transition and future orientation. Proven projects were further developed and new study programs were launched. At the same time, there was a change at the top of the university: in October, Brian Rüeger was appointed President. The transition was carried out with great respect for the work done so far – and with a clear view of the future. The first impulses from this new perspective are already being felt, and important steps have been taken to develop our university into the most entrepreneurial university in Switzerland.
A key step was the consistent integration of artificial intelligence into our education and training programs. This not only allows us to keep up with the latest technological developments but also to actively shape them. AI should not be a short-term trend but rather a fixed component of our DNA: a tool for improving teaching, supporting our students and strengthening our innovative capacity.
So 2024 was not only a year of arrival, but above all a year of preparation: for a new chapter in the history of HWZ. The vision and strategy that we are developing together for the coming year are based on a strong foundation of experience, quality and the firm conviction that we can actively shape education.
