Last Friday, HWZ, together with alumniHWZ, invited guests to the traditional HWZ Summer Day Party at the Bauschänzli. Around 300 students, alumni, lecturers and staff celebrated the annual get-together and marked the 40th anniversary of HWZ in glorious summer weather.

The departments are a central driving force at HWZ. They develop programmes, promote innovation, and ensure that study, continuing education and professional practice remain closely connected. The Department of Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Academy shapes key areas of expertise relating to entrepreneurship, innovation and lifelong learning. Its aim is to support individuals and organisations in recognising opportunities, implementing new ideas, and actively helping to shape the future.
The 1990s marked a turning point for the Swiss educational landscape and for HWZ. With the introduction of the Universities of Applied Sciences Act, not only was a new type of higher education institution established, but also the foundation was laid for HWZ’s current positioning as a practice-oriented, entrepreneurial university.
