  • Interest in technological and business-related interconnections

  • Analytical thinking to identify and analyse problems

  • Creativity and the ability to find innovative solutions to complex problems

  • Ability to communicate effectively in order to explain technical concepts clearly and understandably

  • Willingness to learn in order to develop further and stay up to date

  • Ability to work as part of a team in order to collaborate effectively with others

Timetable

Assessment and main study period (semesters 1–6)

Teaching takes place on a fixed block day on site at HWZ. The evening block is held online and, depending on the semester, consists of classes, tutorials or independent study. Additional days are required for assessments and seminars; these will be communicated well in advance.

Major (semesters 7–8)

Depending on your chosen specialisation, classes take place on a fixed block day and on additional days in person at HWZ.

Teaching methodology

Teaching takes place in small study groups to enable intensive exchange and close support from the lecturers. Our lecturers take the time to address your specific concerns and explain the material as needed, including in one-to-one discussions with you.

Through independent study, you acquire theoretical knowledge at your own pace, enabling you to apply and deepen this understanding in class through practical activities. In this way, the knowledge you have gained is actively used and further developed in discussions, projects and exercises, ensuring lasting learning success.

The teaching methods comprise a blend of lectures, discussions, living cases drawn from professional practice, IT simulations, individual and group work, presentations, projects, and seminars. In addition, we support you in your independent study, thereby fostering your individual learning progress.

Programme overview

How do you develop an application from the ground up? How does (generative) artificial intelligence work, and how can it be used effectively and sustainably? Which business strategies are promising in the digital economy, and how can I successfully lead a project to completion?

Over the course of four years, you will engage with these questions and many other, gaining in-depth expertise in software engineering, AI and data science, business and leadership.

The degree programme is divided into a basic study period and a main study period, and the final year offers a specialised major of your choice.
