Major in Strategic Innovation & Entrepreneurship
In the final year of study
By choosing a specialisation, you build targeted, subject- and sector-specific expertise in your final year of study – focusing on exactly what will help you progress in your career.
In one semester, you will learn how to design strategic innovation processes and successfully implement disruptive business ideas. In the other semester, you will develop scalable business models and strategies to position organisations sustainably and with a focus on the future.
Programme overview
‘Innovation’ semester – from idea to implementation
The first part of the specialisation focuses on the creative and analytical aspects of innovation.
You will learn how to turn trends into real business opportunities and how to develop concrete concepts from ideas.
Focus areas:
Identifying market trends, technologies and societal developments
Application of creativity and innovation methods such as design thinking, lean innovation or prototyping
Development and validation of new products, services or processes – from the initial idea through to feasibility
Work on real innovation projects in cooperation with companies
Reflection on your own role and competencies in innovation
‘Entrepreneurship’ semester – from vision to business success
The second part focuses on bringing ideas to life.
You will develop the entrepreneurial mindset and skills needed to successfully launch business ideas on the market – whether as a founder or an innovator.
Focus areas:
Market analysis, business modelling (e.g.Business Model Canvas) and value proposition design
Strategies for financing and scaling – from venture capital to bootstrapping
Risk management and legal foundations of business start-ups
Pitch training, storytelling and professional presentation techniques
Development of a viable business or innovation idea as a final project
New from the autumn semester 2028: this major replaces the previous major Innovation Management & International Business.

Fees
Tuition fees are CHF 4,750 per semester, including examination fees, the bachelor’s thesis, and external seminars. The fees can be paid in monthly instalments, in which case a surcharge of 5% will be added.
