Target audience
You wish to take on the challenges of a specialist or managerial role at lower or middle management level, contributing in a mediating, coordinating and advisory capacity within the ‘sandwich position’ that this function entails.
Key advisory tools, your self-management skills, and the ability to think systemically and use AI as a valuable assistant in planning and process design enable you to help guide decisions, shape outcomes, and support change processes.
Hence the fields of application are equally diverse: sales and marketing, HR management, client advisory services, team member, assistant functions for decision-makers, project work and project management are just a few examples.
As machines get better at being machines, humans must get better at being more human.
Major in Consulting, Coaching & Leadership / Business Psychology
In the final year of the bachelor's degree programme.
By choosing a specialisation, you build targeted, subject- and sector-specific expertise in your final year of study – focusing on exactly what will help you progress in your career.
Many professional skills can increasingly be taken over by AI, which on the one hand relieves people of certain tasks. On the other hand, the importance of interpersonal and psychological aspects is growing. Change has now become the norm; work is increasingly carried out in peer networks, and both organisation and culture must constantly transform..
All levels and functions are affected, and support for the process is provided both internally and, in part, by external consultants. Within this area of tension, ‘consultants’ operate by contributing their specialist expertise in a lateral leadership capacity. It is therefore all the more important that they possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to be regarded as equals.
Programme overview
Contents of the semester: Consulting, Coaching & Leadership
Based on a systemic approach to consultancy, possible methods and tools for independently designing a consultancy system, both with and without AI support, are developed. These include: clarifying objectives and observation, facilitation and reflection, peer case consultation and intravision, and agile methods such as design thinking or intervention techniques. Particular emphasis is placed on interaction and communication, organisational learning within networks and teams, as well as leadership coaching and diversity management. Last but not least, the ability for reflective self-leadership as a consultant plays a key role. Group dynamics, conflict management and team development, servant & ethical leadership, business consulting and personal branding are specifically explored from a consultant's perspective.
Contents of the semester: Business Psychology
In the business psychology semester, you will explore decision-making and the psychological factors involved. You will deepen your knowledge of occupational, organisational, and market psychology. You will apply insights from motivation and decision psychology to processes within companies and organisations, and examine their impact on social interaction.
