Entry requirements

In addition to the official admission requirements, we recommend further skills that will help you during your bachelor’s studies.

German language proficiency C1

For the bachelor’s degree programmes, proficiency in German at the level of “Goethe Certificate C1” (central intermediate examination) is required.

For applicants whose native language is not German, or who have completed all or part of their schooling in a non-German-speaking country, admission to a bachelor’s degree programme taught in German may require an appropriate certificate or diploma at the level of the “Goethe Certificate C1” or an equivalent qualification.

English language proficiency at B2 level

If you hold a vocational or academic baccalaureate (Swiss Matura), this serves as proof of the required English language proficiency. If you have a different type of baccalaureate or another prior qualification, you must demonstrate English language proficiency at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference.

Information Technology

To study at HWZ, students are required to have a laptop or a mobile device with a camera. In order to ensure effective and efficient teaching in IT-based modules, HWZ expects students to possess certain entry-level technical skills, such as the ability to use online conferencing systems (Teams, Zoom) and practical proficiency in the most common PC applications (in particular, office software).

Newly enrolled HWZ students must ensure that they possess this knowledge at the start of their studies.
