BEEP – Empowering Bhutan through Entrepreneurial Education
Welcome to the Bhutan Entrepreneurial Education Program (BEEP), a strategic project of HWZ – the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration. Our mission is to promote Bhutan’s economic potential through high-quality entrepreneurial education while respecting the unique culture of the Himalayan kingdom and rethinking business, preserving tradition.
Under the leadership of Dr. Hugo Bigi, senior lecturer and subject matter expert at HWZ, BEEP combines Swiss expertise in education and business with Bhutan’s traditional values, such as sustainability and mindfulness. In collaboration with the Bhutanese government and educational partners, we are developing an exclusive, hands-on program that integrates growth, innovation, and sustainability—all within the framework of Bhutan’s unique Gross National Happiness (GNH) philosophy.

Our Program: Knowledge That Drives Change
BEEP offers practice-oriented modules and courses covering key entrepreneurial topics such as business strategies, innovation, marketing, business communication, financing, management, leadership, and the use of artificial intelligence in business. The program is further enriched with mentoring, networking opportunities, access to resources, and an official certification from HWZ.
2025: The Starting Point for Economic Transformation
BEEP is being implemented in multiple development phases – from market analyses to the realization of innovative educational programs. In close collaboration with local partners, we are designing a tailored concept that fosters Bhutan’s economic growth while preserving cultural values and ecological sustainability.
This project also provides valuable insights for Switzerland and Europe, encouraging us to rethink our own economic models and move toward a system that balances growth with social and environmental responsibility.
