Dr. Hugo Bigi has over 40 years of professional experience in the field of public and media communication. As a Senior Lecturer at HWZ, he is responsible for modules and courses in media studies, journalism, rhetoric and presentation skills within the bachelor’s programmes, and leads seminars in rhetoric and presentation skills at master’s level and at the HWZ Executive Academy.

Hugo Bigi is also a lecturer in journalism and communication at the Swiss School of Journalism (MAZ) in Lucerne and teaches rhetoric at the Centre for University Teaching and Adult Education (ZHE) at the Zurich University of Teacher Education. On behalf of HWZ, he regularly teaches in the Bhutan Middle Management Hotel Programme at the Royal Institute for Hospitality and Tourism in Thimphu, Bhutan.

Previously, Hugo Bigi was an Associate Tutor in the Department of Media and Communication at the University of Leicester in England, where he also completed his doctoral thesis on 'Journalism education between market dependence and social responsibility'. His research was published in the HWZ series on business and education economics (Volume 13: Journalism Education between Market Dependence and Social Responsibility).

Since 1984, Hugo Bigi has worked as a journalist across print, radio and television, and regularly hosts the award-winning TV interview programme 'TalkTäglich' on TeleZüri. He is the owner of Hugo Bigi Media & More GmbH and leads communication and media seminars for senior managers and top executives of Swiss and international companies.
