The Executive Module – Advanced Management Programme is aimed at HWZ graduates who wish to complement their specialist expertise gained from a MAS with an Executive MBA. This programme prepares participants for the topics that will demand the greatest attention from leaders in the future.
The executive module is available exclusively to graduates of the HWZ MAS programmes who have already gained leadership experience, either in line management and/or project management.
What I particularly appreciated about the EMBA programme was the combination of strategic depth, leadership reflection, and a strong practical focus. The programme brings together cutting-edge tools with relevant topics such as AI, transformation, and ethical decision-making, while also providing space for genuine personal development. I found the exchange with inspiring fellow students and lecturers, who lead with conviction and experience, especially valuable. The international module was the perfect finishing touch: intensive discussions, high-quality content, and a strong international perspective.
With the executive module, you will embark on a journey exploring the topics of the future. You will delve into six thematic clusters that will have a lasting impact on tomorrow’s world and its business models. This programme is rounded off with an international week at the Darden School of Business (University of Virginia).
The thematic clusters include:
How can we deal with uncertainty and an unknown future?
There is no industry today where things simply continue as before. Crises and disruption are ever-present. Uncertainty can be unsettling and paralysing, but there are strategies, concepts and tools that help you navigate it and make decisions under uncertainty with greater confidence.
Together with experts from futures research, organisational research, politics and business, you will explore current developments and analyse how to make ethically sound and strategically effective decisions for yourself and your organisation that are fit for the future.
How can new technologies be used to create real value?
Whether AI or robotics, new and evolving technologies are shaping all areas of business and society. It is clear that the pace of technological progress is unlikely to slow down, quite the opposite. Organisations and their leaders must therefore be able to identify technological opportunities quickly while managing their challenges with confidence.
Together with experts from the technology sector, you will analyse the potential of new technologies, as well as their legal boundaries, and understand where responsible leadership makes the difference in ensuring their meaningful and value-creating application.
How do we develop new strategies and implement them sustainably?
When uncertainty, complexity and speed shape organisational life, it is essential to regularly reassess whether current strategies remain effective. Continuous market and organisational analyses, as well as reviewing your vision and strategic objectives, become a competitive advantage or even a necessity for survival.
Together with our strategy experts, you will explore analytical approaches and learn how to identify new goals, develop aligned strategies and embed them across the organisation with the support of employees.
Making an organisation fit for the future means not only rethinking structures and processes, developing employees and shaping the right culture, but also systematically removing barriers to change. Together with our experienced lecturers in organisational development and transformation consulting, you will analyse which structural and cultural levers need to be adjusted to design and implement transformations successfully and sustainably through iterative, participative processes.
You will also learn how to remain capable of acting in times of crisis through strategic turnaround management.
How can you strengthen your leadership capabilities?
Leadership today, and even more so in the future, means managing change and complexity in times of uncertainty. Leaders must find their own effective way of dealing with change while also bringing others along. Success depends on the ability to reduce fear and resistance among both leaders and employees, enabling leaders themselves to become drivers of change.
Together with our leadership experts, you will explore and practise how self-leadership and leading through purpose and values can foster motivation and make a real difference.
How do we achieve a competitive advantage through purpose-driven marketing and customer centricity?
In an environment shaped by change, crises and digital disruption, leaders are required to position and communicate their organisations clearly, strategically and effectively. Successful executives manage communication and marketing strategies in a targeted way to build trust, strengthen brands and guide their organisations confidently through transformation processes. Traditional approaches are complemented by innovative, technology-driven methods.
Together with our communication and marketing experts, you will explore how excellent leadership communication and modern marketing make a tangible difference, delivering sustainable impact and business success.
A study week at a US campus university is a unique experience. This is why the stay at the Darden School of Business has been an integral part of selected HWZ master’s programmes and the Executive MBA for many years.
Together with students from other HWZ master’s programmes, you will spend your study days discussing a range of current case studies (e.g. Porsche, Unilever, Netflix, Merck) in highly interactive sessions. In the typical Darden mix of case teaching, discussions and learning teams, you will work with faculty to develop practical solutions for your day-to-day leadership challenges.
The Darden faculty is renowned for this interactive and engaging way of consolidating ideas, perspectives and knowledge. You will exchange insights with experienced managers, receive targeted advice on how to implement what you have learned, and expand your professional network at the same time.
You can trust that our experts are fully committed to their work. We appoint only lecturers who not only have a solid professional background, but dare also familiar with the challenges of day-to-day business life and know how to address them.
The tuition fees for the executive module are fully transparent, with no hidden costs. They include:
