Robots are leaving the factory and entering our everyday lives. From hospitals and hotels to logistics, retail and increasingly our homes, robots are taking on tasks we may not yet associate with robotics. This seminar invites curious minds to explore Physical AI and discover where we might encounter robots next. This seminar is held in English.

Robotics is no longer just about factory floors and engineering. As artificial intelligence becomes more capable, robots can increasingly perceive their surroundings, learn from experience and act autonomously.
This seminar explores where robots are already being used today — including places where we may not even notice them. Through real-world applications, current developments and surprising use cases, participants will explore how Physical AI could change the way we live and work.
No technical background is required. The only prerequisite is curiosity.
This seminar is designed for:
curious and technology-interested people who want to understand how robotics is shaping our future
professionals and leaders looking for an accessible and practical introduction to Physical AI
anyone interested in the intersection of AI, robotics, society and the future of work
people who want to experience and make sense of emerging technologies, rather than simply read about them
In this intensive seminar, you will:
understand what Physical AI is and why robotics is undergoing a major transformation
discover where robots are already being used — including unexpected applications
understand how robots perceive, learn and act
explore current humanoid and autonomous robots and their capabilities
distinguish between science fiction, hype and real-world applications
explore how robotics could transform our everyday lives and the future of work
develop new perspectives on the question: Where will we encounter robots next?
Physical AI: What happens when AI gets a body?
Robots around us: Where robotics is already being used — and where we may not even notice it
How robots perceive the world: Sensors, cameras and AI — explained in accessible terms
How robots learn: From simulation and training to interacting with the real world
Humanoid robots: Why machines are becoming more human-shaped and what they could be used for
Unexpected applications: Robotics in places where we might not expect it
Reality check: What works today, what is hype and what is still in the future?
Robotics in the real world: Explore applications in the environment of Innovation Park / DARE Campus
Looking ahead: How Physical AI could transform work, everyday life and society
Kateryna Portmann is Senior Product Manager at ANYbotics, where she is responsible for autonomous robotics products from strategy through to rollout. She was named one of the International Federation of Robotics' “Top 10 Women in Robotics 2025” and is Co-Lead of Women in Robotics Switzerland.
She has spoken at events including ICRA, WiDS Zurich and AI House Davos. Kateryna also teaches at HWZ, including in the CAS Future Tech, CAS Women Leading Digital and CAS AI Innovation programms. She is also a co-author of the publication “Innovation Sandbox for Artificial Intelligence” by the Canton of Zurich.
With her experience in developing and deploying autonomous robotics, she makes the rapidly evolving world of Physical AI accessible, tangible and relevant to everyday life.
The most interesting question is not whether robots will become part of our everyday lives. It is where we will encounter them next.
We also run this seminar for individual companies in various languages (German/English), with internal certification available on request.
