Dr. Linard Barth
Head of Department Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Academy
Since May 2025, Dr Linard Dario Barth has been Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Academy at HWZ Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration.
Even before starting his business administration studies at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), Linard co-founded his first limited liability company with two friends from secondary school, which operated successfully for seven years. After completing his studies and gaining industry experience, including a role as Head of Business & Sales Development at DMG MORI, he joined the Competence Centre for Product Management at the Institute of Marketing Management at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in 2017.
During his time at ZHAW, he supported numerous start-ups and SMEs in innovative projects and was actively involved in both degree and continuing education programmes, including as Programme Director of the CAS in Pricing & Sales. He also completed his doctorate on the topic of 'Value creation with digital twins'. At the end of 2024, he co-founded his most recent company together with former students.
Linard holds an MA HSG in Business Administration and a PhD in Business Economics and Management.
